Show of Shows
Whatever you’re looking for in diving you’re certain to find it at DIVE SCOTLAND. Because at the Show you’ll be able to see the latest in dive gear, dive holidays, training, leisure clothing, books, videos and much, much more.
Northern Diver, Splashsports, Greenock Diving, Otter Watersports and Aquatron Marine are just a few of the companies taking part and there are certain to be some fantastic deals to be had. And, with the Show coinciding with the Scottish Sub-Aqua Club’s 50th anniversary, they too will be at the Show in force – not only as sponsors but also with a try-dive pool for your non-diving friends to have a go in. Click on to the exhibitor list for more details of who’s exhibiting so far. .
But the exhibition stands are just one aspect of what’s a great day out for there are also free-to-enter seminars to take in. Come to Dive Scotland to hear some top speakers. Paul Naylor will be talking about Great British Marine Animals in Action - Cuttlefish courting, lampreys grasping, starfish spawning, wrasse cleaning and crabs stalking are just a few of the wonderful sights you can see when diving in our home waters. Paul Naylor is a marine biologist who has been snorkelling and diving around the coast of Britain for nearly 30 years. He specialises in underwater still photography that tells pictorial stories about how a wide variety of animals go about their lives. Paul’s latest book, Great British Marine Animals, is an ID guide with added value as it contains many unusual pictures of our sea creatures in action. In his presentation he will talk about the stories behind getting some of these photographs and the intriguing behaviour that they portray.
Monty Halls will be talking about The Full Circle Expedition - Ten of the world’s best dive sites in ten weeks was what the Full Circle Expedition was all about and Monty Halls, the expedition leader, will be at Dive Scotland to reveal all. Some fantastic video footage of some diving to places some of us can only dream about – South Africa, Galapagos, Palau, Australia, Belize, Bahamas, New Zealand, Malawi and Yap are all included.
Lastly, Innes McCartney will be talking about The Last Patrol – Submarine Wrecks of the English Channel, his new book covering 121 submarine wrecks. . Special attention will be paid to the historically important ones and, if names like the Holland 5, L24, M1, M2, U480 or UB81, mean something to you then this session is unmissable!
Admission is on production of a valid entrance ticket but is subject to space availability. Session times, content and speakers may be subject to change without prior notice.
It’s a Show that only comes to Glasgow every two years and one that’s not to be missed – great savings, a great place to catch up with old buddies, and a highly enjoyable day out..
