Hi all,

I've asked in other forums with varying degrees of sucess, so I thought I would ask you clever buggers.

I fancy doing the DM course (alongside my CMAS training) and have been looking at the possibility of a six week stint with Regal. All the prices seem fair enough and I can probably get cheap digs with friends so it would be a reasonably priced holiday really with the benefit of learning something.

My question is:

Is it worth doing the "Internship" at the end of the course or shall I just stick to the course and let experience come slowly?
Has anyone out there in YD done anything like it? Share your sage advice, please!

<font color='#0000FF'>I would recommend it mate - esp with a decent outfit (as I understand) like Regal. If you want to get into the industry then I reckon it will be a great benefit

Provided you get plenty of all round exposure, from try dives through courses to guiding then you will learn a lot from real situations with real people with active instructors. Get behind the scenes too and ask questions .

I did my internship with EDC in Fethiye. Turkey during 2001 though mine was 6 months in all and took me to OWSI. I also got a lot of exposure to the sales side of the game, ie pool shows and reps welcome meeting presentations and thats good exprience too.

I'd recommend it - at least you'll log a lot of dives if nothing else !
