Have just heard that a diver is missing since yesterday afternoon off the Donegal Coast after a dive about 14 miles off Horn Head.

Details are sketchy, but it appears that the diver concerned failed to surface after a 90M dive.

Keep this one in your thoughts/prayers folks.

we were fishing yesterday and heard some of the chat on the radio. Helicopter and at least two life boats, it blew up a bit and the inshore life boats were turned away. They mentioned that he got separated from his group at depth and wasnt seen to surface.

thoughts go out to anyone involved

I wouldn't say it was written by someone who knows a whole lot about diving.
Probably a fair bit more than we'd know abvout running a newspaper.

I'm assuming you are referring to this:

"The diver was a member of a group from Britain that sailed on a charter. He was using an oxygen set known as a rebreather, which recycles exhaled gas"

Sounds like a pretty reasonable summary of a rebreather to me.

Yep, your are right. Don't know much about running a newspaper (probably don't know as much about diving as I should either ;-) ) and the quote is a fairly good basic description of a rebreather.

Have not heard anything on the news here (ROI) today.

Thought are with their family and friends.

Bad news

The body has been located, but not yet recovered.

May he rest in peace.
