I am stuck in Bristol for a couple of nights in July and want to get wet in the evening - are there any dive sites (shore dives would be good) that anyone would recommend?
You are not far from the NDC at Chepstow or Vobster near Bath but you are a couple of hours from any decent sea diving (Weymouth area would be closest).
I'm based in Bristol and have had some very enjoyable shore dives out of Babbacombe - it's a bit of an effort of an evening (about 1h40 to drive) but can be really worth it. Otherwise I'd second the Cromhall option - that's only 20 mins from central Bristol.
Thanks for all the replies - as work expect me to be at work during the day (most unreasonable in my opinion) I am limited to evening dives and the evenings I am in Bristol (Monday and Tuesday) don't tie up with the opening of any of the three dive centres - I will probably try to get to Babbacombe if I can get one of the others I am with to bring their gear.
Thanks again.
