Drysuit repair

1193 Views 16 Replies 10 Participants Last post by  Jennifer
I have a small tear on my neoprene drysuit, it hasnt gone all the way through so I want a patch to go over it to provide some protection. Does anyone know where I can get such a thing?

Thanks

Dan

I found 13 holes in the back of my suit
Just black witch & a small patch of neoprene leave a 2kg weight on it for a hour and its fine
yeh - gob it up with black witch - I have a suit practically made of it - in fact if I had not patched up my old suit and not spent £5 per tube on 'black witch', I would have probably had £200 towards a new suit!!
My drysuit has a small penetrating hole in it:(
Will black witch do it on its own or do i need to patch it with neoprene?
If i do does the patch go on the outside or the inside?

Only time will tell whether my leg stays dry or not as I've just repaired by black witching the outside and then black witching and patching the inside.

Fingers x'd for a dry dive 2mor :)

Black witch should do the job fine, just make sure it's well coated on the surfaces of the hole, and there's a decent blob on the back and the front of the hole.

If you really want to patch it you can, but I wouldn't use neoprene to do it - because of the thickness the patch is easily caught up on things if you rub past them, which is likely to reopen the hole if it does happen.

Just gob it up with a load of black witch and that's the end of it.

Digs.

I would get the person who penetrated you to seal the hole.:D
It will do the job on its own without a patch. Try to keep the hole open to give the witch a chance to dry, then if you have some plastic clamps pinch together giving even pressure. job done.
then if you have some plastic clamps

Pleased 2 report my patch (on the inside) + black witch (in the hole as well as smeared on the outside) worked a treat + I had a dry leg yay.

Not so lucky with the dry gloves but that's all down 2 user error, lol
