Since we had a fair old topic on inland sites, quarries etc wondered if anyone had ever dived Easdale at Oban.?

Not having done it myself I understand it is a quarry flooded by sea water with some pretty awsome depths.

Any of our Scottish YD ers know anything more?

I used to live just over the hill in Balvicar so this was my local.
The hole is an old slate quarry that was allowed to flood with sea water.
Deep +/- 100m, dark and used to take a lot of sewage (raw) from the surrounding houses. :washmouth: I don't recall any life.
There was rumoured to be a Rolls Royce "dumped" in there amongst the old quarry stuff. We did hatch pub plans to recover the roller but saw the light.
Not really recommended.
Now.... off Easdale there are some good shore dives.
