sorry about the link.

You must have been wondering around my site. The menorca pics are mine, taken in August. I did not get chance to take many this time, busy with students. Menorca offers some great diving, I have been there several times over the last few years.

Seems a shame to me that this site has become subject to "development".I used to dive this site when it was in its ahem "natural state",lotsa cars(so many in fact that several club members were kept on the road with salvaged parts),varied species of fish, old mine workings, dumped off casts from robberies and on one occasion at least, much to the dismay of the lads who found it,the infamous handless corpse. It also had good vis apart from in the hole. While you had to do a bit of off roading to get right the water's edge in a car, and pee behind a tree if you did'nt like the warmth in the water then it was good.In fact it was half the fun.I realise tht it presented a good buisiness opportunity, but to be honest It riles a bit to see good free dive sites ruined in effect then sold to divers as a venue. There's lots of interesting places to dive if you look, just turn up after a recce and see,you never know what you might find. That is afterall how Eccleston and Capernwray(which was so polluted and boring that no one would dive there anyway)were "discovered".Anyway rant over take care all!

I used to live in Parbold down the road from Eccy Delph. There are two other huge water filled quarries around there. They are kind of sealed off and owned by an old quarry company called manifold. Theres one behind Northern Diver and one up the hill from Chorley Road. Has anyone ever dived them. Is it legal, etc. to jump in and have a dive. If you wanted permission does anyone know how you would get it?

Hi Ben,I know that ND are using the one behind their place to do courses, one presumes that you'd have to make a donation to M.Armitages fund to dive in there. Not sure re.your other site, take care,Hobby.

Tim, Come back from the Dark Side......

If done on a sat you can get air fills at ND. Ill look into how you sort it out. With the amount of money I spent at ND ion the last two months we might be able to blag it!!! Not sure about the legalities. Not sure if they own it or tresspass. Not sure if they would approve if we drowned or something. Saying that bit of tresspassing adds to the fun!!! The other quarry might be diveable if we write a letter to the owner and send him a disclaimer or something.
