<font color='#000080'>Does anyone know who is the 'Head Inspector' for the HSE's Diving At Work section and where can I find him ?

Although I am merely an 'amateur' instructor, I've been asked to do some stuff for a few people that I am not going to receive a reward for, but want to contact them specifically to clarify my position.

Where does he 'hang out' ?

Not sure where he hanges out but I'm sure a search engin will uncover him.

The general rule is that if there is no payment of any kind you can keep your amature status and are exenpt from the health and safety at work legislations. e.g. all BSAC instructors.

A good idea however is to be sensible about numbers, conditions, depth and previous experience. A dive plan, first aid kit, risk assesment and good briefing go a long way and cost nothing.

If you do get paid, it's a totaly different ball game.

hope this helps without going into too much depth, I'd be here all night.
