I've acquired a second hand Bristol Pneumatic compressor, model 4S-24 40RD but am unable to find much info on the web regarding old Bristol compressors.
Gardner Denver have supplied parts list and drawings for the block but dont have any further info.
The unit is running and producing air to the 250 bar the safety valve is set to. It running at about 10.5 cfm . We have been told anecdotally that the max working pressure is 275 bar and rate 18 cfm fad. The owners previous owners didnt know what the cfm should have been.
I'm trying to find a service manual and some general info on what will be the expected output pressure & cfm rating.
In particular the unit has a manual condensate drain(interstage and final pressure) that we like to fit an auto drain valve to if possible(and not too expensive). All the pressure stages connect to a single block which is also connected to the drain hose and to a separate valve. When the valve
is opened the unit dumps through the hose(at a high rate of knots).
Does anyone have any info on these compressors or can they direct me in the right direction.
Thanks for any help and info you can supply.
