Recently every time I try to follow a link from a Google search it takes me to a different website
I've worked out that if I go back and try again after the 3rd annoying redirection I get there. I can also highlight the address and right click to go directly to the site

But it's really ticking me off
Have I got a bug/virus or is it a Google, or even a Google Chrome, thing?

Many thanks,
Irritated of Wiltshire

Good luck - I had this nasty, Malwarebytes missed it, as did every other virus/malware application. Had to give it to out IT dept in the end, took them over an hour to get rid of it :(

It may not let you install malwarebytes (had the same thing a few months ago). Easy way round is to rename the .exe file to something random ie. fixit.exe instead of malwarebytes.exe as the clever little blighter blocks it installing.

I ended up getting rid of it using hitmanpro3.5

the combination of cc cleaner, malware bytes and basic antivirus such as avast is quite effective on most things.
If you get a clean sweep I tend to turn off system restore and restart - then turn it back on again.

This stops alot of viruses re installing themselves using the registry
