I would just assume the same as here. Most likely it'll work out slightly cheaper but better safe than sorry.

<font color='#8D38C9'>I'm jealous, I'm jealous!

been a long time since I was in Malin, but when I was in Greencastle, which is just round the headland, during the summer the food & drink was very reasonable, then again I live in London so anything would be reasonable!
I believe the "gargle" is slightly more expensive than in the UK.
I think Barrie (Bang On) will be your best bet on the more recent local costs!
I hope you have a great trip & I'll expect a trip report!

Have I mentioned that I'm jealous?

Thanks Blanaid, just had loads of memories of Greencastle....its been a long time since I wandered that way. I keep meaning to go out to see the relatives in Donegal when I am over but I never get further from the airport than Derry.

Beanie, you are going to have a great time.

<font color='#8D38C9'>I need to escape from mother when I'm in Derry & Donegal is always a great place to do that (once I've snaffled her car of course!)

the restaurant in Greencastle was Kealys Seafood Bar, (brought mum that night) & they even coped with my then 4 year old niece!
beanie, get sorting!

Unfortunately I only get back to Derry for a night or two most times as I go to visit the grandparents (my immediate family have now moved out to Cork), but I'm looking forward to getting a whole week in Donegal at some time, but that would probably be with cousins in Buncrana.

If I ever do get my act together and arrange something I'll be back to ask you two for tips...as its been so long and never having dived up there.

Beanie, I'm really looking forward to your trip report

<font color='#8D38C9'>I've never dived in the north, hence my jealousy!
We did dive in Baltimore West Cork a couple of summers ago & I enjoyed that.
I'm trying to get my act together to go there soon!

<font color='#0000FF'>local bank-link machines will give you € euro if you use your credit card,in which case just take a few € euro for a day or two,say €150 would be more than enought to cover it.

<font color='#0000FF'>beanie,
the 'gold'wreck laurentic is in about 37 mtrs and is said to have 7 gold bars left in the wreck.
explosives where used to get down to the gold and as a result the wreck is fairly flattened but is still a good dive with large boilers giving the wreck an interesting dimension.
i have heard tell local divers have placed gold painted lead bars on the wreck so if you do find one give it a scrape before do'in a jig.
looking forward to it.
cheers
barrie
