Dudes,

After the requisite recce work by myself, Davey and others over the weekend at the Dive Show in Brum, I've put to Louise T that she don her diving glad-rags and come for a wet with the troop on a gig! See her response below.

Why not get her to Hodge with us and we'll do some tasteful modelling type catalogue shots for the mag.  I really wanna get my pic in the mag!!!!

PLEASE can you sort it for when I'm off work as I missed the Brum gig....

How about getting her down on the TDI gig in November? A lot of us are training then but Bren's gonna be a ligger and come along anyhow so why not go full scale?

Erm.. actually Louise's membership is older than yours! I think it would be great to put YD in the potential for a Diver article.

Well, I think a few words of explanation might be needed here.

Semi pro? - I'm not semi anything. My fulltime job is to look after Divernet, produce Dive Girl magazine, and write a monthly column and occasional articles for DIVER.

I don't get paid to go diving - that's what I choose to do in my own time, with my own money.

Thick skinned? - Any woman in my position has to be. Personal comments about my appearance or age or desirability don't bother me at all, but I will/do take exception when people make postings suggesting that I've lied / cheated / injured someone. A lot of people forget that Divernet is my workplace. If I came into your workplace and started making rude comments and accusations about you in front of your employers I think you might feel a tad aggrieved.

Diving with YD? - f*ck, why not!? I can't promise that you'll see an article in DIVER about it, because that isn't my decision. Even if I'm commissioned to write an article about something, there is no guarantee that it will be used by the editor if he doesn't think its good enough/interesting enough. However, lots of the diving that I do crops up in my columns and gets used in articles so you never know.

So. If after all that I'm still invited, lets sort out dates/places times.
