Here are a few pics from my recent dive of the Dos Ojos Cenote in Mexico. Brilliant dives in crystal clear water - spooky as hell when it gets dark !!!

Kirky, frankly, I'm gob-smacked!! And not just by the subject matter of the pics.

Dude, the pics on posts 2, 3, 5 and 9 are worthy of print-journalism mate! They are, in short, f*cking outstanding!! I'd seek an outlet for these and some gelt squire, seriously!!

More of the same, please that man!

Kirky, you have posted some absolutely lovely pictures here.  Well done.

So, were these taken with the Drebel?

Tell us about it all, the dive and the camera set-up.

I'm a magnet for that sort of stuff and I agree...give up the day job.

Fancy doing a trip to the Loire in the summer?

thanks for the feedback folks. camera and kit were the Oly c4040, PT010 housing and Ike DS125 strobe. A couple of pics were taken by a buddy (cos Im in them !!) and they have been touched up a bit on PS7 - I really wish they came out that way untouched !! If you are ever in Mexico you have got to do these dives - I have never dived in such clear water and the scenes with the sun shining thru are awesome.

Timing - havnt tried the Canon yet as an about to order the housing/port/controller from UWCP. Waiting for a full price and will order direct from USA given the good exchange rate.

The Oly gear is now up for sale so I can finance it (in personal ads). Will also have to unload some secondary dive kit as well as Mrs K found out the cost of the new housing etc !!!

Hi Julia - not strictly cave diving but not far off it. It was supposed to be cavern diving (One of those escorted dive packs) but the second dive was devoid of light most of the time and was a little siltier - lets just say that the sphincter was getting a little tighter towards the end but for the sheer rush (yippee, I survived type of rush) it was a great experience.

Most pics were lit with a DS 125 strobe. The arty farty ones were not lit at all, just used the natural sunlight and fiddled with aperture/speed settings until I got what I liked - having said that I had to take about 7 pics to get one I liked and then still had to jigger and poker using PS7.

Hi Kirky

Excellent pictures, you wouldn't even know you were underwater in some of them. The scenotes dives sound realy good, I was in Florida a few weeks ago and qualified as a NSS Cavern diver while there. Both Florida and Mexico have similar systems as they used to be joined thousands of years ago, but it's interesting to see the differences. I've dived Mexico about 5 years ago but the operator would not let us do the scenotes, that's partly why I got the qual.

Here's a pic of the Florida type.
