Monty might be coming out tonight.

By the way, is he the one on the right?
Hi Dive-Diva, it is customary to introduce yourself in the introductions area of the forum before launching into advertising mode...

I cannot imagine what relevance you see in that TV program to this forum but starting one thread plugging it would have been enough.

I think I'm going to red you.

Oh god, not him again! I'll never get the missus's dribble stains out of the sofa:)

But as has previously been established it isn't in the Ts & Cs that she has to.

How do you know the poster is a 'she'? Do you have insider knowledge on this? :)

Whilst I agree that there is no obligation for anyone to introduce themselves (I'm not even sure if I did) jumping straight in with two posts which are clearly advertising does seem a little ripe to me. I don't see much difference between Dive-Divas posts and the ones yesterday from that guy advertising a boat in the Maldives. At least his posts had direct relevance to divers.

Perhaps Dive-Diva would like to come back with a comment, or maybe he or she is really too busy back at their desk in the ITV or BBC PR department.

Not going out but fail to see what the attraction is with old Monty.

How many times will we hear "Rubes"

PS I think 1 thread was enough :)

That's a bit harsh. She did join in 2006 and may well have been lurking for a considerable time, certainly she's put information down on her (and I think her is a fair assumption to make) profile page. certainly more information than you did on yours :)

Whilst the programme may not be your cup of tea, Monty is perhaps best known as a diver and is a relatively common topic of conversation here, especially amongst the fairer sex for some unknown reason. He's even been known to mention YD in his regular column in Dive magazine.

Hmm, and 'her' profile also shows that she only has one posting to the forum and was last active on the forum in June 2006. I still think it very strange that she should suddenly reappear starting two threads about what is at best a very minority interest and at worst advertising.

How did you guess Monty Hall was not my cup of tea? :)

Putting a smiley on a post doesn't always make your comments light hearted. I see a very clear difference between someone posting news about something many people on here are interested in and someone posting to sell something.

it will hardly encourage people to post if their first postings attract critical replies. no matter if its done with smiles or not :)
and it is a useful post, if like me, you enjoy his programmes.

besides, there are a lot worse stuff you could watch. absolute tripe football being one :)

there i did it with a smiley, that makes everything ok :)
-and another one for good measure

really??.. Monty's a top chap, met him quite a few times and known by lots on here.. and even came along on the YD Ironing gig.. and writes a column in the one of the dive mags.. bit harsh..

Anyway I appreciated the reminder ..
Cheers for the reminder.

Monty is a good bloke - TV show is very watchable too. (And my misses fancies the arse off him)
I say "No" to Monty.......

we don't need his filth and debauchery on our televisions, he should be taken from that place and locked away for eternity. Its his like that bring the morals and standards of our society to rock bottom. I shall be partitioning the BBC to take this rubbish from our viewing and will be demanding the return of 'One Man and his Dog'. Monty is the cause of youth drinking and the snorting of kittens who make meow meow noises. Don't be fooled by that glint in his eye, Monty is in fact in league with the devil and Rubes is really santa's poodle.

I say "No" to Monty.

Hmmm. What is your problem.
