'twas a Royal Navy helio, not a RAF one as per the link above. As I mentioned on another thread somewhere we were exercising with the aircraft less than 3 mins flight time away when the shout came in.

This current year seems to be shaping up for an increase over the number of fatalities in the2003 Incidents Report ; as well as this unfortuate soul there's the Stoney incident and the Navy diver who died last week, plus the diver(s) who died last year after the publication of the last incidents report Stats

Lets hope none of us make an entry in that list

<font color='#000F22'>Sadly, there was also an Inspiration fatality in the last few days as well in Nice, a Swiss diver. Sad.

I believe it was Luca Torelli (www.yeapa.com). Very sad news indeed, and condolences to the family...

It is worth remembering that there does seem to be more incidents at the beginning of the year.

This maybe due to a number of factors such as weather conditions, people having a break over the winter and being a bit rusty or their kit not being checked out properly after an extended period out of the water.

Hopefully things will settle down a bit as we get further into the year.
