<font color='#0000FF'>Hi

Yes but what was the liveaboard like ? How was the food ? What was the diveguide like ? Can you get Nitrox ? What do you mean the air tasted shit ?

The reason I ask is that myself and my better half are booked on the MY Juliet 15th June. (Another 10 places left if other YDer's are interested. See oonasdivers.com)

It is a bit concerning,I'd agree.
Do you mean it tasted "oily" or what exactly, and were there any ramifications resulting from this.
Hobby.

<font color='#FF0000'>I was on the Orchid last year and it had just come out of dry dock so it smelt like varnish for the week! Great crew, especially the Tito (?...crap with names ) and his card tricks, dive guide (Aslam?) was v.laid back,  he never did a night dive(too cold!) and the food was great...being a veggie non fish eater I was a bit concerned but, no worries. I ate like a lord all week. Diving great.
Did you know a dive guide was electrocuted on the Orchid a couple of years ago? Shocking stuff (sorry!)

So, how much did this liveaboard cost then?  Did it work out cheaper than staying in a hotel?

What was it like being stuck with strangers for a week?

And was the beer free?! (And was it just Stella?)

<font color='#0000FF'>the cost of the trip was 650 quid, thats flight, transfers, 6 nights on the orchid, food, air (12 litre tanks, extra for 15 litre)
and one night at the intercontinental garden reef hotel (very nice indeed.) beer was bought before we got onto the boat as it works out expensive buying on board. food was good as long as you like garlic. hasam the dive guide was top class, moaned slightly if you went deeper than briefed, and wasnt up for the night diving either. yes nitrox is available, yes the air tasted oily, to such a degree the back of your mouth had a layer of slime on it after the dive. now a few of us have got a bad cough since coming home but that could be down to the duty free cigs.
diving was fantastic, especially the wall dives ras muhamed, ras um sid. the wreck dives to were interesting, although the second dive on the thistlegorm was v.busy (diver soup)
all in all, well worth 650 quid. next year we are thinking of doing the southern red sea (brothers island etc) so if anybody has dived, or has information on that please dont hesitate to contact me.

I'll be doing the Brothers, Daedalus and Elphinstone Reef on the Tiger Lilly with 3 friends at the end of this month / beginning of June. Will post a report in due course.

<font color='#000080'>Hi John,

I am also booked on the MY Sea Serpent first week in June.

I will keep an eye out for the Tiger Lily and who knows maybe get the boat boys to arrange a rendezvous.  The plan is to stay around the Brothers virtually the whole week with maybe a couple of short jaunts to other close sites.

We did Elphinstone and wonderful though it was, we fancied just chilling around the Brothers and have nice settled evenings and nights...  but who knows, plans change.

Have a good one.
