Check out www.aquastars.co.uk in Eyemouth. They have a spanking new dive centre at the edge of the harbour with a state of the art compressor and a fast RIB.

From the A1 Eyemouth turning, go right at the first roundabout signed Harbour/Golf Course and follow it all the way down and you're there.

Their boat rides cost a couple of quid more than others but with free parking and a membrane compressor which means no more need for clean tins for up to 40%, you'll get your money back.

Pete Clement (ex Scoutscroft) is running the place, and he knows what he's doing - I hope he has a busy year.

Dived with the Gavster at Aqua Stars yesterday, they have quite a good set up. Well stalked shop and they seem fairly relaxed, happy to sit around in the sun talking diving. We were only there for one afternoon dive, and there was plenty of room on the rib with seven divers, if they stick to there limit of 8 then you shouldn't have any bother with kit.

The folk we were catching up with had already dived the president, 15m viz apparently, it's obviously the time to dive the Abbs area.

Thetre's easy access close by for shore diving, concrete walk oin as opposed to scramble over rocks at Abbs.

£10 per rib dive, £3 for airfills, membrane nitrox available, and loads of free parking.

Only thing that might cause slight niggle was that we used a slip at other end of harbbour as we were there at low water so we kitted up in public carpark on other side of river and couldn't take advantage Aqua Stars kit washing tub.

I'll definitely use again as it opens up other diving and with a number of trips a day it should be possible to get on. Well worth it, as alternative to Abbs. even if it is six miles further from Edinburgh, with new strecth of A1 now open we drove home in 40 minutes.
