<font color='#000080'>i've found out that i've got a job as an RSPB warden this summer, which as far as i can tell involves a lot of hanging around on the beach and occasionally doing a bit of research on terns

i'll be living at rhosneigr on anglesey from may till august this year, and i'm very much looking forward to a lot of diving - yay!
(was offered the job on the skerries too but turned it down - would have to be there for three months with no opportunity to dive
)

so, i'm looking for lots of nice new anglesey-based friends to go diving with... anglesey diver? yellow butty box?

so exciting!

Like you needed to ask!!??
Well done on the new job and yes, I can see us having yet another 'Anglesey Large' during your stint a lovely part of the world.

Indeed, this gives us a great excuse to have another Stoney-type YD Party!!

oo oo yes, that would be great! everyone come and see me!

i'll be living in a static caravan (courtesy of the RSPB, thank you very much) so perhaps i'd be able to sort out caravans for people....

bang-on - never thought of that, could be interesting.... my only limitation though would be lack of time off (one of the two wardens has to be present every low tide) but i'll definitely think about it

There's nothing to say you can't be in the water waiting for it!!

Guess I could manage to drag myself along to Anglsey on the odd occasion, I might even bring some of my club - or is it the other way round??

<font color='#000080'>Kate,

Congratulations on getting that job! I dive in Anglesey regularly and all year round, so we should try and keep in touch. When do you start?

It will make a change for you to be in North Wales and in a caravan, with the owners knowing about it!

A couple of guys at my club have joined together and are going to locate a caravan at T/Bay, and we are hopefully going to locate our club RIB down there, as we have had problems in the past with people not wanting to tow the boat from Stockport especially if there are only a couple of people wanting to dive, too expensive not enough cars with trailers, hopefully this will lead to more Angelsey based trips this year they have been few and far between for the last couple of years.  If we have a trip going and we have the space I am sure you would be welcome to join us.

<font color='#810541'>Kate, if you're looking for a club to join when you're up there then you are just about 10 mins away from RAF Valley. They have (or had a couple of years ago) a very active club. I learned to dive with them way back in 1989 and spent 7 happy years of diving all around that area. They had a couple of boats when I was there, their own compressor and shed loads of kit. Diving with a military club is cheaper than any civilian club you can name - membership costs are tiny, dives cost you basically the price of an air fill and a contribution towards the petrol costs. Think it worked out at about £3 for a days diving

With the drawdown of service personnel at Valley they have always been more than willing to have civilian members...  If you're interested I'll get you some contact names and numbers there. Let me know.

<font color='#000080'>hi all, thanks so much for all the replies, very much appreciated! it would be lovely to hear from anyone coming to anglesey, i'll stick my mobile number in my profile so please get in touch. i will be there from the beginning of may until the end of august.

John - thanks for the info on RAF Valley, that's very interesting to know they have a dive club. i have to work with them anyway over access to land etc., so that would be ideal! please PM me with contact details and i will get in touch with them nearer to the time.

<font color='#000080'>3 Months! The Skerries is a fantastic place but that's one hell of a confinement. No wonder you opted for the noisey side of the island. Plenty of great shore-dives to be had over that side - great for Night-diving too.
We're only 25 mins away if you fancy a look at the Skerries one day/evening and we're hoping to get LOADS of diving done
this summer- hoping to skive from work for whole of the summer this year to compensate for the poor show last year (ear-infection, torn knee ligaments, babies and stuff). Stick to Treardur side through June- doesn't suffer plankton as bad as N. of island- then get in touch and we'll get you on some good stuff. Have you checked my web-sites? contact details are on there. WEBSITE
