Any suggestions for the next away day? I can only go for single days at present (so no overnights to Scapa Flow!). Would be nice of we could get a few of us together probably on the North East Coast. I really don't want to do Capernwray but if EVERYONE decides thats the one then I'll go!

Regards

Ok I just ran a search on Hodge Close...... to quote...

This is a real bugger to get into with a fully kitted walk through a 200m thigh deep water filled tunnel to a dodgy scaffolding ladder at the end. There have been a number of rock falls into the quarry over the last few years which has destroyed vis. The actual quarry is awsome to look at as it is just a hole in the ground surrounded by slate scree. This is not a dive for the beginner as the quarry drops straight to 28m all round except for a small scree slope with a few car wrecks on it. The quarry is renowned for its extensive cave system which has killed on a number of occaisions. There is some danger with the poor visibility of simply swimming int the caves bby accident. end quote...

Hmmmmm.... not feeling quite as desperate as I was 10 mins ago......

Hopefully the weather will calm down (as Eddie would say!) and we can do some shore diving soon. Hodge Close doesn't sound like much fun - heard good and bad things about it and tbh, if it came down to it, I'd go to Stoney or Dorothea first.

But, if the consenses is to go to HC, I'll be there!

Regards
