PADI - Regional Manager 'moves on'

It might just be me, but does this PADI email sound a bit 'wierd' which I received tonight:

"Re: Regional Manager Graham Owen
Effective from Tuesday 20th of April 2010, please be advised that Graham Owen is no longer an employee of PADI International Ltd, and no longer works for PADI International Ltd in the capacity of Regional Manager for England South of the M4, and within the M25, Wales & Eire. We thank Graham for the work he has done while working at PADI International Ltd and wish him every success in his future endeavours.
Until the appointment of a new PADI Regional Manager to these regions please contact..."

Might just be badly worded corporate crapola - but isn't it usual to word things a bit more :

" X is leaving is for better things at the end of the month , he was great, loved him to bits, from now on talk to y"

Their email just sounds a bit 'sinister' especially as it happened in the past - a bit more
"We've sacked the bloke/he's quit, don't try to contact him about anything Padi, oh, afterthought, he was a nice bloke" ..

Not very happy smiley padi is it ..

Any idea what the background to this is?

Graham is a nice guy and I am not sure it is appropriate to speculate on the background of this email on the internet.

There are rumours going round about this, but in reality it is between Graham and PADI.

Graham is a cracking guy - I believe he's planning to move back into the training side of the industry and run his own dive centre again. Judging by his previous track record - I don't doubt it'll be a huge success. Clearly the two things generate a sight conflict of interest which had to be resolved :) I wish him all the best - not that he needs it
Agreed - Graham is a nice bloke - only met him a few times and spoke to him a dozen or so times.
Didn't intend to cast any aspersions over him, but rather Padi - seems a strange way to announce a personnel change - by mass emailing a poorly worded note that seems guaranteed to make all recipients think "oo err, what happening here"..not good form. Any time personnel changes have been announced before always seem to be through the bulletin or at the point of contact - seems a bit OTT to email every Padi member in the UK, most of which will never have heard of him..

Anyway good luck to him, I'm sure he'll do well.

It certainly made me think that without knowing the real background
Might be nothing "sinister", sounds like the type of bollocks most big company HR depts send out when someone leaves.
I agree with the Druid
