Hello all,

I have taken over a trip booked at the end of this month 25+26 of june. I have also managed to tag on an extra dive on the friday. This trip will be run from Aquanauts dive center in Plymouth. The dives will be off the excellent boat outcast and I will make sure they get plenty of helium in!

Aquanauts Dive Centre Plymouth, Diving Centre, and Plymouth Charter Boats

The plan is as follows:

Friday 24th: Riversdale, ropes off at 1pm.

Not done this one before but wrecksite says it is 41m to the bottom and 11m proud. She was a 2800ton british steam transport ship sunk by a torpedo from UB-31.

Cost: £20

Saturday 25th: Newholm, ropes off at 8:30am

Again not one I have done before wrecksite says 44m to the bottom 16m proud. Another british transport ship but larger at 3400ton, sunk by a mine with a loss of 20 lives.

Cost: £500 spilt between divers booked on.

Sunday 26th: The Maine +1 ropes off at 8.30 (may be a little later)

Done this a few times now but never miss an opportunity to get on it!

Wreck Tour: 1, The Maine - Divernet

Inside the max depth is 31m, 34m outside at the stern.

+1 to be decided on the day but there is plenty of choice in less than 20m.

Cost: £500 split between divers booked on.

Usual rules apply, if you say you want a place then you pay for that place. Only once the boat is full may someone else take your place. This allows for the cost to be spread more fairly amount everyone.

To book on ring aquanauts on 01752 228825 then place your name on the list.

Hope to see you on the boat!

Cheers, Joe

Due to the lack of interest the saturday will no longer be a mix dive. We will be diving the Persier and Glen Strath Allen instead.

The persier is an excellent dive, a 5400ton armed merchant ship. She is at the point between intact and well broken up, all of drivey bits like the massive boiler and expansion engines can bee seen and the larger plates allow loads of life to grow on or hide under them.

Max 30m.

The Glen had many lives first a steam trawler, then a pleasure yacht, then an escort, back to a pleasure yacht, then a floating school until she was scuttled because she was probably knackered! Very nice bimble dive with some massive resident conger in the boiler.

Max 18m.

Cost is now £45 per day.

Wanna spot then ring the shop on 01752 228825.

Cheers, Joe

Can't understand why the original schedule hasn't been filled-up, those are 3 cracking dives. I'd have bagged a spot if I wasn't already busy that weekend.

Sorry mate, I thought only the Riversdale was an open boat (ie open to failed DIR types!).

That's the world of trying to fill boats I'm afraid - you'd never believe it can be so hard. Those three should have filled no problem. Hey ho.

See you on Friday!

Single diver

Hi there,

I would be interested in both the Saturday and the Sunday but am a solo diver sans buddy :( Is anyone else already going happy to dive as a three or is anyone else a solo diver that needs a buddy?

Also can you confirm what sites we would aim for as the site is now saying Rose Hill and JEL for the Saturday (no complaints here if it is!) :)

Thanks

Melissa

No problem booking on the boat as an individual, I'm sure we will be able to find someone for you to dive with.

Just had a word with the shop, the boat is going to the PERSIER and GLEN STRATH ALLEN. I told them about the website but unfortunatly they haven't had internet all week so are unable to change it.

If you fancy coming along then ring the shop to book your place.
