Does anyone have any spare P.E.G. knocking about or know of a good source?

We need some urgently to soak a 18th century gun carriage axle and wheels. As it stands we have to get industrial quantity, which we can't store, or lots of small quantities which cost the earth.

Picture of the axle, pre-recovery can be found here Artefact Finds for 2007.

It is, if I remember correctly, the substance used to replace the water in artefacts recovered from the seabed, when raised. This stops them drying out and crumbling, once at the surface. The Mary Rose and the Vasa being the best examples of its use.
