I might be up for something like that, looks quite ......... nerdy.
Some of the puzzles require physical access to the campus

It ought to be only the final meta-puzzle that requires you to be physically present to retrieve the "hidden object" and in past years this has always been the case (though a bit of local knowledge doesn't go astray). After poring over Puzzle 1.1 though, I have to say I'm starting to wonder whether they've kept to that rule this year...

Most of them at least should be solvable without being in Melbourne though. I'm not taking it as a serious competition (though my team did come in the top 5 one year I think!) but the puzzles are always an intriguing diversion... :)
Ok, I think 1.2 is Whitlam - The wordsearch box is a red herring, whilst the 25 names are 25 of the 26 Australian prime ministers. The missing one is Gough Whitlam.

You're close, but one more step required -- the word search isn't a red herring after all! ;)

That's the only one I've managed to solve so far, though haven't looked at Tuesday's puzzles yet. The time difference is a bit annoying, the new puzzles (and the hints for previous days) come out at noon Australian time which is 3am BST...

Ah, just read the first hint to 1.1. Poot! That's not the way they used to do things, if the hint is meant to be taken literally... :(

I thought the missing one was Harold Holt....
