Egypt plane crash claims 148 lives

An Egyptian charter plane has crashed into the Red Sea, killing all 148 passengers and crew on board.
The plane went down shortly after leaving the resort of Sharm el-Sheikh.

Most of the passengers were French tourists, including many children, returning from holiday to Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris.

French and Egyptian officials have said they believe the crash was caused by technical failure, developed minutes after the plane took off.

I don't know if this has already been discussed on the site. Its quite scary that 148 people leaving Sharm have been lost. Quite a lot of us on the board fly in and out of Sharm, some board members were probably in the airport at the time, just lucky enough to be on a different plane.

It goes without saying that a number of our french diving counterparts will be amongst those lost.

My thoughts are for the families of the passengers and crew
