Thought this forum looked interesting on 2 counts:

1 - Up til now I have been a fairweather diver but since moving to south Devon have decided it is time I dived in the UK and so I am keen to see whats going in this area.

2 - I work as a researcher at Plymouth Uni. I am working on a study looking at diving habits in Lyme Bay (Berry Head in the east to Bill of Portland in the west). Trying to find out where people dive in Lyme Bay and how often and how much it costs. I am new to online forums and so am not sure if there are any do/don'ts but I would like to post a couple of short questionnaires (1 for divers and 1 for dive clubs/businesses) for anyone interested to complete or they could contact me directly

cheers

Hi Tris,

one of the Do's for on-line forum is to introduce yourself with your first post inthe Intro section, but i guess you've said a little about yourself here so that should be fine.

i would recommend you creat a poll for this othewise you may well get loads of posts and have to trawl them to obtain your required data whereas you could just create a poll and peoples answers woudl do that for you

and yes please do join us diving in the UK it's wonderful and at Plymouth you'll be able to join and active uni club and have lots of good sites close to hand

Thanks for the advice. I suppose its the dry suit/hoods etc that have put me off til now
