Maybe I'm asking for too much but my girlfriend and I are very keen to do week's diving over christmas.
SO the challenge is: where has absolutely great diving that is very cheap and easy to get to for a week long trip AND has good weather over Christmas?
We have started investigating Red Sea options but would be keen on something different for a change.

Its Scuba1 and Moray - they have a dive centre in Tenerife (where Andy2tanx and I are off for a week in December!). I dive the Canaries several times a year and its always great. I'm sure Michael (Scuba1) and Rebecca (Moray) will add to this when they log on.

<font color='#000080'>Thak you Howard ... but I never wanted to kiss you  but it keeps my face warm.

Hello Spike in december water temps are around the lower 20ties and the vis is in the upper 20ies. If you stay in the south of the island between Golf del sur and Playa Paraiso I can pick you up at your Hotel and drop you of after I am done with you, If you want more info on Tenerife or any of the other Islands, just drop me a line and Ì`ll help where I can.

<font color='#0000FF'>I'm going to try to head off to the Canaries around December with my Mrs. As she's a teacher it is a pain as it is always the busiest time, still if we get a cheap flight it would be a great break.

<font color='#0000FF'>Is there a way to escape the mass tourism? i.e finding a nice cheap & cheerfull accomodation in the hills for the sleep and then commute to the dive center? Naturally we will rent a car but want to avoid the cement as much as possible.

<font color='#000080'>Yepp I can get you a apartment in the village where I live I think they are about 30 to 40 Euros a day 2 bedrooms. And it is right on the beach but not a hotel for miles.

Hi all

scubamuppet....yeah, sounds good to me, but who the h*** is pierre? *gg*

To be more precise about prices: 2 person occupancy is 30 euros per day, 4 person occupancy 40 euros per day. As Mike said, we will happy to arrange this for you, as well as pick you up at the airport, if you don't come in at stupid o'clock in the morning....well...yeah, even then...

..will be happy to answer any email inquiries as to prices (YD SPECIALS!). (Just trying to keep the spam here on the board to a minimum.)

And aw shucks Howard: Mike grew that beard specially for you!:-D
