<font color='#000F22'>I'm sure that the rest of the Mull lot will regale the boards with exciting trip reports of fun in the Sound of Mull and I was meant to be one of 'em but the fickle finger of fate came along and promptly decided that it'd like to do a body cavity search on me!
Me and Fi leave Edinburgh on Friday drive up in the pissing rain to Corrin meet Tony(Parahandy) and Ben on the Ferry and get to the Lochaline hotel. After a spot of dinner we're greeted by Peter K with: "Are you lot Yorkshire divers?" - bill paid and of to the Social Club for a wee pint and meet up with all the guys.
Back to the accomodation - spartan but all you need and everything's going well. It even stopped raining.
Awake at seven and the sun's out. Ya Beauty thinks Gav, grab some breakfast and drive down to the slip ready to load the boat and get underway for The Shuna and later The Hispania.
I've got all my kit squared in the bag and I've just set the twins up - propped up on the back of the 4x4 - seemingly perfectly safe. Then disaster struck - I turned away from the rig for a couple of seconds and it fell to the floor striking the main-pot and jamming the first stage into the valve. I could see instantly that it was FUBARed and that was it for me.
I was devastated and even tho' the kindly souls on the boat offered me everything from spare sets of twins to new regs to borrow I was sooooo upset I was not in a fit state to dive anyway.
Me and Fi called every dive shop in Scotland to see if they had the parts need for a fix but to no avail. At one point we even considered driving to Edinburgh and back to catch the diving on Sunday but a look at the weather forecast put us off.
I managed to get the reg fixed and tested for £25 and the repair on the twins should be less than £50-60.
I'm sure all the boys and Becky had a great time and I hereby pledge to organise another gig to Lochaline very soon. Peter appeared to get everything spot on and I'm sorry that I just buggered off - I should have stayed on as a non-diver and enjoyed the crack. I don't think I'd have been great company tho'
It was great to meet everybody and I'm sure I'll see you sometime in the near future. Thanks again for the offers of help - next time I'll take my singles wing too !!
All the best
Gav
