Video editing software?

I need something simple to cut MP4 videos down into manageable chunks.

Preferably free. :D

What do people recommend?

ffmpeg does a good job of most things if you can get used to the command-line features. I'm pretty sure there are a variety of graphical tools built on top of it as well if that's more your thing.

What's wrong with Windows Movie Maker? (Vista/Win7 versions are more capable than on XP)
I use Vegas Movie Studio 9 from Sony. I prefer it to Pinnacle.

I use it too - love it :)

But I think it's probably overkill for just cutting MP4s into smaller chunks.
