Can I be entirely cynical here?

Who and where was the diver shooting the film? Why didn't s/he help?

I suspect that something like that would be thoroughly ridiculed in today's world.

One of Cousteau's divers had an octopus that he was playing with wrap itself over his twin hose valve (the valve itself, not the mouthpiece) and by creating a suction, prevented the diver from breathing in. This caused much hilarity amongst his fellow divers.

Got quite some problems with a angry octopus last year. Or really no problem, as the octo was about 4cm long.... ;) But he tried to kill me with his ink :eek:mg: hehe! Funny creatures, eager to see some bigger ones of them.

I think young Charles may have encountered a zombie octopus as it looked somewhat dead.

In my experience, an octopus that annoyed usually squirts a load of ink and buggers off.

You're right! It does look dead on second inspection. So you think he just grabbed it and was messing about?!

Also - check out that random guy pumping oxygen in his pack at the beginning!
