Hi everyone, received this from Al Reynolds at BSAC, so just to pass on the info.
Geoff,
Just heard that Vivien Quarry is to open on Sunday 26th October. New owner,
John Bushell, sent me an e-mail. Perhaps you could forward the news to
anyone you have contact with.
Alistair
As has been said elsewhere, small quarry bur because it is a slate quarry vis tends to be excellent until someone starts kickin up the leaves at the far end. Good for drills, not too good for navigation practice for obvious reasons. Capernwray is best for that.
Shame that some idiot suggested to the owners of Eccleston Quarry that a rope along the bottom linking all the exhibits was a good idea. Makes navigation a bit pointless, however those who haven't got their nav skills together can find their way around when the vis is bad there.
