Pretty sure that the "he" in the first picture is actually a "she". The male is the bright yellow chap.....
I'm not so sure. They only go bright yellow when there are ....ahem.....'beeootiful Laydees' around to impress.
He's still got a bit of a blue head and a more yellowy body than he'd usually have though. Normally (ie, not in breeding season) he's the same mottled colouring as the femails.

This is definitely the male, it is the same one I saw the day before, no women around so he was pale
