I did a night dive in a fiord about 50 miles north of Gothenburg this evening and just about everything possible went wrong, mostly due to the cold (minus 8 degrees Celsius).
1. My octopus free-flowed before I got in the water. It wouldn't stop, so I had to remove it and put a plug in the hole.
2. When I checked the inflator on my new TPII it had frozen closed. I had to jump in with an empty BC.
3. One of my fin straps broke when I put my fins on (see, it happens!).
4. The valve on my pony bottle leaked a cloud of bubbles.
5. I lost a fin at the end of the dive.
Happy diving!

Glad nothing else went belly up though.
Safe diving mate.

Well, Mark, I think Lawrence D deserves that award more than I do. He seems to dive in even tougher conditions.

Hello,
I think your problems comes, from not saying your prayer before you sleep
You are complaining about your temp. what should I say here is 20'C, so today I will change to dry suit?
Yes Lawrence would have many things to say, especially last dive when he used his head to break the ice (no metaphor), on a serious note I admire your diving in so cold conditions because it's so hard on equipment. Many times that's why I say that going to 50m here in Malta is not as risky as going to 30m in these cold water.

Bye take care.

-8 Deg C, respect dude!
Mind, don't you think "someone" was trying to tell you something with all those things going wrong at once, sometimes it isn't "a good day to dive" (to paraphrase Mr Worf).
