Short deco button guages will do - you will not use all the gas so it is enough to know that it is full when you jump.

Long deco when you may use most of the gas; a "proper" one on short hose.

Buttons are less likely to get in the way but are buggers to read unless you really plan their placement and the orientation on the reg.

HTH -probably not. :)

I used to use button gauges on OC but with CCR I need to be able to see how much gas I have left as i am far more likley to have to wing it, so I siwtched to the mini gauge on a 6" hose.

I'm the same and am absolutely convinced that the age at which I've switched to CCR and the size of button gauges has nothing to do with it...:embarassed:

I use a button gauge on the suit argon/air bottle but having seen two of them go pop and shoot the insides across the boat when pressurised I wouldn't put them on a rich mix.

Like many others here my two 7L stages have small format 'normal' SPGs on short hoses. Rather like this, but this is actually the stage reg set on the 3L pony I clip onto the CCR when diving with a guy on just a single so I have something to hand off...

Six inch hose bent back on itself with a piece of bicycle inner tube snoopy loop with the lightest SPG you can find - the Suunto's are great - so are the little Agir ones

I have a smallish Northern Diver SPG on a 6" hose.

It is supposed to a standard gauge, but it is smaller than say a Sunnto SM36 but big enough and clear enough to read easily, but not too bulky to get in the way.
