<font color='#0000FF'>Dive site HMS BRAZEN
Average depth   28m
Max of about 32m in the scour around her bow.
Taurus leaves Dover at 17:40
Dive time is 18:40
Dive costs  £ 15 minium ( but as you know it's all being donated to the RNLI )

FREE hot drinks including soup, bacon butties plus on return , my local pub has said , that IF YOU BEHAVE he will pull the curtains and call it a private party.

HMS BRAZEN

There were men at the guns still firing seconds before Brazenwent down and though her anti aircraft fire was resposible for 2 German dive bombers the Luftwaffe got her in the end on July 20 1940, when she was escorting convoy CW7 though the Straits of Dover. The german bombers cripled her with a near miss bomb under , near the engine room, which broke her back. she sank under tow . Casulities were light , with only one man dying from wounds after being taken off with the rest of the crew. The  BRAZEN was one of 9 "B" class destroyers built in 1930-31. She entered navy service on April 8 1931. Her wartime crew numbered 175, her tonnage was 1360 and her length of 323 ft had a beam of 32 ft . her armament was four 4.7 in and two 2 pounder anti aircraft guns, together with eight 21 inch torpedo tubes . her steam turbines developed 34,000 hp and could be pushed along at 35 kts.
Toda she lies at 30 mts and stands 8 mts proud, she is upright and despite sweeping most of her super structure is still in place. Her bow points to the North West. One of her AA guns still points up to the sky ( BIG lobster lives in it ), the other has fallen to the deck. her heavier guns are all in place, but german bombs seem to have blown her stern off-certainaly you need to swim back over a sandbank amidships for some distance to find it and her two loaded torpedo tubes. Entry can be made behind the gun turrets , though it is silting. bunks can still be seen and  rows of gas masks and .303 ammunitiuon is littered around.

Just out of interest, Andy - I'm assuming your local is in Deal?  Any B&Bs nearby?
Any takers for a quiet well-behaved troop piss-up, with a pot for the RNLI?  Just an idea, likes.

A plan is starting to form.  Perhaps a raffle of unused diving kit?  Got a load of Sofnolime I wanna get rid of.  Hardly used at all, only about 3 hrs on it

Sorrrrrrryy Howard, but I don't drink shandy mate.  If they sell Babycham at the boozer I'm a definite.

<font color='#000080'>I love it when a plan comes together.
Especially since my oppo who blew it out is diving the Clyde at the same time and it's -6 there at the moment (overnight air temp).
Looking forward to seeing you all - possibly not much during the dive though!

BSAC AD last dive 3 weeks ago 32m, no problem with buddies I have never met before.

Probably do this on 32% with twin 12s. Another opportunity to fiddle with them and get opinions re shutdowns & the like.

Any suggestions for accomodation? I thought I had a bed, but parents are going away
Could be a deck/sleeping bag issue here.

l want a room with a personal maid, who also washes dive gear and prepares a full fat non dir English brecky.

In fact if she does the last two, it doesn't matter what she looks like.

Hi Andy,
got a good few hours in the water & have a bit of a rep as a bottom-time hog, but being as it's a night dive I don't plan to take the piss (frightened of the dark)  I'm quite happy budding up with any old body (Howard'll do then
BONUS won't need a torch, will follow the luminous suit)
Put me down for the seamen's mission, ensuite, fluffy towelling robes, hot & cold running blowjobs and foie gras brekkie.

OOOH, getting closer now....

I guess I'm the baby of the group in terms of experience - this would be my 50th dive. Around half of those have been in the UK, but only a handful in the sea. My 'biggest' UK dive to date was the Pomerania (28m ish) with Paul a few months back. Last dive 2 weeks ago, done about 9 in the past 2 months. PADI AOW if it matters.

I've only done one (tropical) night dive before, so this trip is right at the edge of what I'm comfortable with in terms of the depth/darkness combination. I'm up for it, but I won't be offended if anyone thinks it's a bad idea.

Other pertinent info for potential buddies: I'm diving on air and will want to stay within no-deco limits, so that would limit bottom time to around 20 minutes at the wreck's average depth. So basically I'd be looking for a nice easy bimble round the shallower bits of the wreck, with no penetration. I use a 15 + pony. My SAC is still pretty high (prob. 25-30 for this dive), so that would limit my bottom time to around the no-deco limits anyway.

SO... I'll dive with anyone who'll have me

I don't think I need handholding, but people do need to be aware of my experience and current limitations. And again, if anyone thinks this is a bit ambitious for me then I won't be offended to be told so.

I'll probably be driving home that night, so I WILL be drinking shandy(!) and will not require the services of the seamen's emission, sticky or otherwise

<font color='#000080'>Hi Andy.
I'll probably be heading home that night, most likely got to work the next day but should have the benefit of a chauffeuse (wife), so will miss the delights of the Seaman's Mission.

TDI Extended Range
300+ logged dives. 50/50 split UK and warm water although less often in the UK this year.
Last dive 4 weeks ago, only a handful of night dives.
