Is there anything we can do to stop the way society is going? Am I naive to even hope there is????

Ban the Daily Mail? It would be a good start perhaps. Read the statistics and the truth emerges that the UK is not a particularly violent society and that knife and gun crime are unusual. That's why we end up discussing these few incidents. If you lived in the US it would have gone undiscussed as its an everyday occurance.

There is, as someone pointed out earlier, a SMALL group of society that thinks guns/knives are a status symbol. Most crimes seem to me to occur between people within this group and not by this group towards others.

The tragedy is when innocent people outside that group are involved.

Lets not let these few tragedies make us live in fear. If we do we will have a fully armed police force, ID cards and a whole generation of young people that are too scared to go outdoors.
