nah.. don't do that.
B&Q lamps are fine!
I have posted this here before, but frmo memory:
MR16 lamp. 12V, 50watt dichroic. they sell them.. couple of quid each.. the lamp just
pulls out of the socket. Does not twist - thats the 240v versions..
if you have the pro head and its less than a couple of years old, then it will probably have the 'silicate' (I think thats what its called) glass in it. It will stand up to the heat.
I run a whiter light in my Pro head - still halogen, but it burns at 6700K, more like a HID, rather than the standard 3700K colour temperature of the standard lamp. These are similiar to the Solux lamps, but a quarter of the price - ÂŁ3.50 head as opposed to ÂŁ15.. I will continue to do so until I can afford a HID for my GF F2..
For those interested, I got them from: B G Electrical Distributors - Bojea Trading Estate, Bodmin Rd, St Austell, 01726 69552. I rang them earlier, they have them in stock and are about ÂŁ3.50 each. (I have no connection by the way)
The B&Q lamps are absolutely fine as well..
