Swim is 800M mask, snorkle and fins, non-stop. No time limit and it is done during your IDC not the IE.

You go through the e-learning site. The company that are doing the IDC should have a link on their website somewhere. If not you go through padi.com.

 

Sadly the IE just has a non timed 800m snorkel.

Its a shame since i see a LOT of DMs who would no way in hell pass the DM stamina tests any more and some who blatantly didnt do them properly first time round and got signed up.

 

There's no swim on the IE, the 800m swim is on the IDC... Now in my day there was a timed swim on the IE (plus the tread water) but there hasn't been for longer than most people on here became PADI Instructors... SPROGS :teeth:

 

It depends

There may not be online learning for you. PADI announced changes to the IDC / IE at DEMA in November but the new syllabus is not mandatory yet - there is a period for the change to apply. Talk to your course director and find out whether he is doing the old or new syllabus. If it is the old one, there is no elearning. If its the new one, elearning is an option and your course director can explain what you need to do.
