Anybody used these and could give me an idea of their prices? I will be taking some cylinders in for testing and o2 cleaning. I will be popping in there on friday regardless, just curious

Shame you can't get them to Gary so he can do them this week at Neil's place.

Thanks for that Dave. Do you know if the prices double up for twinsets? I know some places do that as I got quoted about £100 for a visual and o2 clean fo rmy twin 12's.

 

I'd be inclined to drive some tanks over there just for the saving, but only because work will pay my petrol...

 

no experience of the SCS... but have used Bob Angus, who is a smidge North of Fareham, for reg servicing and have been very happy with the cost, quality and speed of his service.

Used to use Pete and Gary when down that way, SCS has been around for years and Bob Angus used to work there before setting up on his own.
Pete has many good stories and is a bit of UK diving history. The site is historical as well being in one of the Napoleonic forts.

 

Servicing and testing

Once I get into work this afternoon( forward Diving Poole) i'll get some prices posted up for servicing and testing.

I service all types of regs and only use Christolube 111.
Iv'e done this for years and don't charge extra for this.

I always clean the Valve ultrasonically on all cylinders as a routine matter regardless of whether it's O2 or not and reassemble with Christolube.

just finished 52 cylinders and 21 regs for a club all O2 clean.:teeth:

 

I can understand why apeks themselves charge more for a o2 clean.

At the factory they have a special "o2 clean" room that has a double door entry system to it and a fancy air purifier feeding the air to the room. The staff wear white suits to stop contamination when working/assembling o2 clean regs in this room.

Although in reality this is a bit over the top, they are just covering their backsides and doing the o2 cleaning 110% to the book by ensuring there is as little risk as is humanly possable for contamination etc.

I suppose they can justify a increase in cost for this service.
